A cup of tea with Dr Ranchen Chophel, Vicechair UNCRC
On January 5th 2024, National Child Advocates Council Member had an interaction with Dr. Rinchen Chophel Vice Chair of UNCRC in Kathmandu, the children raised their issues seen regarding to the child rights that should be addressed. On behalf of Nepali Children, NCAC member handover the letter of request to Dr. Rinchen which contains the different issues of children collected from all seven provinces during the Child Led UNCRC reporting process. During the interaction, National Child Advocates Council member request immediate scheduling of Nepal in the meeting before the main session and to make participation of Nepali children in meeting organized by UN Committee. The suggestion letter contains the summary of the issues that came from the various sessions of the meeting with NCAC and issues collected during the preparation of the child led report. The suggestion letter contains issues related to the child education, child health, child protection, child participation and investment in children. Dr. Rinchen kept his commitment to discuss the issues of Nepali children. During the interaction Vice Chair gave his valuable remarks and was very positive to discuss the Nepali Children issues among the UNCRC leading members.
