Consortium Nepal with the support of GSIF/ OVN is conducting a series of consultations with different groups under girl education, empowerment, and engagement. In this Connection on 28th August 2024, a Consultation with an Academician and Researcher was conducted to discuss Girl’s Education, Empowerment, and Engagement.
The Main Objectives of this consultation was to discuss various aspects of issues regarding girls education, empowerment and engagement. It aimed to discuss further about improving girls’ education, engagement and empowerment to draft the policy paper.During the discussion they addressed the gaps in girls education, empowerment and engagement identifying the areas where these gaps exist and the challenges involved. They also discussed the efforts, opportunities, and possibilities for improving girl education, empowerment and engagement. The discussions included who is responsible for these aspects, what roles individuals and organizations can play, and what additional structures or facilitation are needed to address these issues effectively.
The proposed recommendations focus on improving the educational system by promoting early age participation, incorporating cultural events, addressing curriculum gaps, ensuring inclusivity, empowering individuals economically, enhancing financial literacy for young girls, offering vocational training, addressing mental health issues, developing digital literacy skills, identifying and addressing policy gaps, and strengthening the enforcement of laws and government support. These measures aim to create a more equitable and effective educational environment for all students. Overall, the discussion was productive, leading to several important recommendations and outcomes aimed at enhancing girls education, empowerment and engagement.
