Consortium Nepal with the support of GSIF conducted consultations with child centric network leaders on 2nd February 2024. The objective of the event is to bring together key stakeholders, including leaders from child-centric networks to engage in a constructive dialogue that will contribute to the formulation of a comprehensive policy paper. Additionally, consultation aim to achieve shared learning, identify gaps and promote girls participation through a collective campaign. Consultations program with child centric networks leaders helps to prepare plan and policy paper in the basis of actual needs of girls. During the consultations participants engage on different areas of child rights provided their insightful inputs regarding to the girl education, empowerment and engagement. Discussions covers the structures and responsibilities of federal level, provincial level, local level, civil society or networks and other sectors related to girl child rights. Further, a discussion covers best practice existing in the sector of girl empowerment, education and engagement in context of Nepal. During the discussion the main problems or challenges in policy, implementation, structure or behavior in order to protect and promote the overall rights of girls and to address common issues were discussed. Similarly, are the main priority issues of girl child rights in context Nepal were discussed. There was also discussion on the possibilities of the current situation in the reform of girls’ education, empowerment and engagement and overall rights of girls. Participants from child centric networks leaders provide the recommendation in regards to policy, programs, structure, resources, practice and implementation on girl education, empowerment and engagement. Participants over there discussed about the international commitment, constitutional practice, laws and policy and plan regarding to the girl education, empowerment and engagement.
