Consortium Nepal with the support of OVN/ GSIF conducted consultations with political leaders in 7th March 2024. The main objectives of the Consultations was to collaborate with political leaders in order to Gain insights into the perspectives and priorities of political leaders regarding girls’ education, empowerment, and engagement for the formulation of a comprehensive policy paper. Similarly, to identify key areas within girls’ education, empowerment and engagement that requires immediate attention and policy intervention. Consultations with Political leaders help to gain insights into the perspectives and priorities of political leaders regarding girls’ education, empowerment, and engagement. It discussed and explores various policy options and strategies to improve girls’ education, empowerment, and engagement outcomes. Further, it helps to gain political leaders’ commitment to prioritize and support policies that enhance girls’ education, empowerment, and engagement. During the consultations political leaders engaged in discussion and explore on various policy options and strategies to improve girls’ education, empowerment, and engagement outcomes. Political leaders presented during the consultations kept their view on Current status of girl child education, empowerment and their participation. They stated about the Gaps (where and what?), problems or challenges in girls education, empowerment and participation. Similarly, participants discussed about the efforts, opportunities and possibilities in girls’ education, empowerment and their participation. They stated about the Who and what is responsible for girls’ education, empowerment and their participation? Who can play what role? What more necessary structure or facilitation is needed and how should it be done? During the discussions the participants provided about the key recommendations for ensuring inclusive, quality education for all girls and promoting lifelong learning, holistic empowerment of girls, inclusive and meaningful participation were discussed.
