Nepal is going to prepare a ‘National Voluntary Review’ report on the Sustainable Development Goals within the next June and present it at the meeting of the high-level political forum under the United Nations. Before this, Nepal conducted the review for the first time in 2017 and for the second time in 2020. Under the same process, a national voluntary review report on sustainable development is going to be prepared under the leadership of children.
In this connection, on 2nd June Consortium Nepal facilitated the Child-Led Voluntary National Review (VNR) Report 2024 for the High Level Political Forum in collaboration with the Nepal SDGs. Forum. The report aimed to raise the voice of Nepali children in sustainable development goals. Prior to the national workshop, a workshop was organized at the local level on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Voluntary National Review (VNR) report to be prepared under the leadership of children at two local levels of each province. Four children have been selected as write-up team in this National workshop to prepare an integrated report by incorporating the suggestions received from the local level. Now the children will gather together to write the report. Children from all seven provinces were presented during the national workshops.
During the workshops, Honorable members of the National Planning Commission, NGO Federation Nepal, Nepal SDG Forum and Vice President of the National Child Rights Council, development partner organizations, and representatives of non-governmental organizations working in the field of child rights participated in the workshop.
