On 25th July 2024, Consortium Nepal organized virtual orientation workshops on NDC for National Child Advocates Council Members. The aim of the virtual workshops is to orient children about the concept of NDC. The virtual session was facilitated by Environmentalist Prakriti Koirala. She explained about the climate change, Paris agreement, Nationally Determined Contributions and role of children in achieving NDCs. National Child Advocates Council Members from different provinces were present during the sessions. National Child Advocates Council members were informed about the Nepal’s NDC also emphasizes the need for international support, including financial assistance, technology transfer, and capacity building, to achieve these goals. The country’s commitment to climate action is not only about reducing emissions but also about ensuring sustainable development and improving the livelihoods of its people. Children can play role in spreading awareness by participating in school programs, local events or social media campaigns, participating in community projects like tree planting, waste management or water conservation efforts. Similarly, children can involve in adopting sustainable practices like conserving water, reducing plastic use. Further, children can involve advocating for change for stronger climate action.
