Consortium Nepal Conducted workshop related to grievance Handling mechanism on 24th October 2024. During the session, there was discussion about Grievance Hearing Committee and Grievance Hearing Reporting. This session was facilitated by Kiran Thapa, former president of Consortium Nepal and Santosh Maharjan, president of Consortium Nepal. During the presentation, Thapa discussed the objectives of the grievance committee to be formed in the school. In this context, objectives such as reducing the risk of discrimination, emotional and sexual abuse, exploitation, sexual violence, physical or mental punishment, bullying, etc. within the school, while coming to school and in the community, according to the prescribed mechanisms, methods and procedures, teaching-learning and physical education of the school, helping to increase educational quality by making the environment gender- and child-friendly, clarifying the responsibilities and roles of schools, mechanisms and related agencies to implement the complaint hearing procedure were discussed.
Similarly, in the next session of the program, Santosh Maharjan, the president of Nepal, discussed about the complaint hearing reporting. It was mentioned about that Quarterly and yearly reports on complaint hearing reporting should be prepared and sent to the relevant agencies, a summary of the annual report should be made public on the school notice board and website, maintaining confidentiality when reporting complaints and making the report public, details of child protection and gender violence prevention student-task force, complaints received throughout the year, He added that the format of the annual report on grievance hearing in the school, regular monitoring, monitoring along with the complaint box and the complaints, problems and suggestions received from the grievance hearing mechanism should be studied.
