25 October 2024 Consortium Nepal organized a three-day national workshop on child rights defenders at Nagarkot in Bhaktapur. The workshop was completed in the presence of a group of child human rights defenders belonging to the National Child Advocates Council, which includes child representatives from all seven provinces. The facilitation of the workshop was led by Milan Dharel, the former executive director of the National Child Rights Council. In the workshop, it was discussed that children can also be human rights defenders. Adding to the discussion, Dharel said that for the implementation of human rights, legal and ethical respect, promotion and monitoring should be done. During the session different topics related to human right defenders were discussed. Topic like, What is child human rights? Who can be human rights defenders? Who can be child human rights defender? What can be the role of child human rights defenders?
