Study of Child Rights Movement in Nepal: Final Draft Report Sharing and Discussion

Child rights movement is one of the well-organized social movements of Nepal. Currently, many child rights-oriented organizations and networks are working for the promotion of children’s rights in the country. During this period, no facts and data can be found in a unified way about the various activities that are being actively done to institutionalize this campaign.

On this connection, “Study of Child Rights Movements and Campaigns in Nepal: Review and Future Actions” has been conducted and a draft report has been prepared in the joint efforts of the consortium of  organizations working for child participation in Nepal (Consortium Nepal) and the civil society network working in the field of child rights.

National Validation Workshops was conducted by consortium Nepal with the Support of Save the Children. The Main objectives of the program were to share the final draft of the report on Study of child Rights movement in Nepal. It aims to collect the suggestions from different a stakeholder who has expertise in the field of child rights. During the program children, development partner, networks leaders, past president of Consortium Nepal make their valuable presence. The program was host by Santosh Maharjan President of Consortium Nepal. Welcome remarks were presented by Titotam Paudel. Following the welcome remarks, Kiran Thapa Coordinator of steering committee for Child Right Study Review kept his valuable remarks sharing the history of the study. After that, Bishnu Bahadur Khatri and Sushil BK share the presentation on Study of Child Rights Movement in Nepal. They share about the introduction, steps of research, research methodology, and objectives of the research and findings of the research. The participants provide their valuable inputs that should be included in reports.
